This functional art bench for a garden provides a conversation and sitting area for 4 to 5 people at one time. The form itself is derived from two profiles, one on the inside and one on the outside. The interior profile conforms to the shape of a seated person providing an 18" high bench. The exterior profile creates a pure geometrical and sculptural form. Providing privacy, shade, and structure, the concentric steel tube circles gradate from open to closed from the top to the bottom. The interior circles are made from a round-profile teak providing a comfortable and durable seating surface. The finish for the steel circles and ribs could vary from rusted cor-ten steel to powder-coated paint to aluminum.
