Inspired by a series of 27 sculptures built from Douglas Fir surveyor stakes stacked in precise geometrical patterns, this lamp seeks to condense the power of the original 7’-0” high by 4’-0” diameter sculptures into a 4” height and a 21” diameter. With a GU-10 light source shielded within the black nylon base, light is directed upward towards the laser cut clear-frosted acrylic “stakes.” The acrylic form captures the light and allows it to pass through, projecting the form’s geometry onto the ceiling. A stainless steel base holds the socket, wiring and cord, and provides extra weight for stability.
