Constructed from a hexagonal module that is repeated, stacked, and twisted 20 degrees with each layer, this sculptural and structural tower can be built to any height (within reason!). As the module is stacked and twisted, a spiral staircase is created on the interior of the tower that can lead to a roof-top, a different floor level or a defined space for viewing and rest. Through this continual twisting, fresh air and triangles of light are able to permeate the interior. On the exterior, cast shadows transform the color and depth of the piece from sunrise to sunset. The Lookout Tower can be built from a variety of materials ranging from rusted cor-ten steel to cast fiberglass to reclaimed structural wood beams.
