The Art Office was approached by Chris Menrad, who wanted to renovate interior and exterior elements of his Bill Krisel designed, Butterfly House in the Twin Palms neighborhood of Palm Springs.  Working closely with Chris Menrad, Chris Neil of PSI Contractors and Jody Williams of Eurotec, TAO developed a 21st century version of the original 1950’s kitchen using birch ply “boxes,” translucent acrylic “peg board” sliding doors, white Corian countertops and new white-faced high quality appliances.  Additionally, new exterior elements such as an entry gate, side gate, mailbox, and translucent sliding garage doors were designed to integrate into the original design.  Chris Menrad received the 2006 Palm Springs Modern Committee’s award for Best Residential Renovation.
