The Art Office provided services for both campus master plan re-design and conceptual design for a new lower school (K-3) facility. The lower school complex was designed via a phasing program to be built out over a 4 year span with 2 additional classrooms coming on-line each year. To this end, two clear span bar buildings were designed around a central corridor. These two buildings could then accommodate the larger arts classrooms or be partitioned to create a total of 4 classrooms. Both roofs were lifted on the outward edge to take advantage of light and the amazing views available on-site. A concrete block base was used to visually connect future buildings and to contain bathrooms and mechanical and custodial closets, providing light through integrated glass block.
