| P.S. ART MUSEUM RESTROOMS |
Palm Springs, CA | |
As part of a major renovation project at the Palm Springs Art Museum, The Art Office was hired to redesign the museum's 1970's bathrooms. Four bathrooms were redesigned: two on the main gallery level and two on the Annenberg Theater level. The theater, also part of the renovation project, was converted back to its original E. Stewart Williams design and orange color. As a result, the theater level restrooms carried this color and modern theme into their design. The gallery level restrooms take their color inspiration from the museum's extensive exposed concrete and lava rock walls. Simple materials, simple details, and simple moves create a memorable, updated image for these restrooms.
